Dear Church Family,
On Sunday, May 18, we announced new summer programming for the children. These changes will provide basis for growth and development in our church family.
The children will not be leaving the service during church, like they do during the school year. Instead, after the "Time with the Children" at the front, the children will return to their seats in the sanctuary.
Our hope is that by allowing the children to remain in the service they will begin to understand how a full worship service is conducted and that it will become comfortable for them. Also, that they will be affirmed that they are a welcome part of our church life - all parts of it. Activity pages will be provided for them along with the Wiggler Bags.
Instead of becoming disgruntled by the child noises around you, give a smile and a wink to the little ones (maybe even a piece of candy!). You may be a breath of fresh air, if you offer to have a child or two sit by your side during the service. Many of you have the golden grandparent touch. How wonderful it would be for our GUMC children to have GUMC grandparents in the congregation?!
There will still be nursery available!
